SharpShooter Mod w/ pusher prop from Havoc Heli

Friday, February 18th, 2011

The missiles stopped working so I found another use for the big RED button: it starts a pusher propeller. The pusher prop is actually the tail rotor from a Havoc Heli and for stability I used the tail boom with the tail fin from the Havoc. A credit card (sic!) supplied the material for a base for the battery , prop and the skids all put together with hot glue ( first time i used the thing - how did i survive w/o it??) . This is my first vid on youtube, unedited and raw - i finished this “thing” at midnight on black friday, please be forgiving. Ofcourse i flew the thing!!!! It flies just like the original Sharp Shooter w/o much tweaking, just had to add some weight - hence the quarter. the thing just shoots up in the ceiling after removing the case and the missile tray. the pusher prop doesn’t do much - i’ll go over that in the flying vid - and is just very inaccurate , gotta push the red button a few times before it kicks in. Fun to build tho and it looks cool bony like that.

R/C Micro Metal Gyro Copter from ThinkGeek

This tiny copter sucks at sucking. The built-in gyroscope keeps it incredibly stable and makes it very easy to fly. Possibly the easiest flying heli we’ve got! www.thinkgeek.com Music by Revolution Void - www.jamendo.com

Make Electric Screw Drivers from R/C servos.

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

Using an Kraft KPS 15 servo, here I show how to make your own screwdriver for working with small, repetitious screws, Allens or bolts. Necessity is the mother of invention, so hence (because we had so many little screws to remove and replace) this was the cool way to do it. Many old servos can be found and used for this task at garage sales, etc. I use mine all the time and hope you may find this a useful project to try. I use Amazing Goop to glue my stuff, www.amazinggoop.com and because this is a tight fit with lack of air, let it dry at least 48 hours before using. Your servo may differ than mine, and you may elect to mount your screwdriver to the output arm, or servo wheel instead. That allows you to remove the driver and add a drill bit, slotted screw drive, or Allen wrench instead. I made mine permanent, because I dont lose anything since it is entirely self-contained. Most of the things I need to use it on is Phillips anyway. This fits in the palm of the hand rather well and you may find it a useful tool. Have fun, and thanks for watching. Dave
