Once Upon a Time in America

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

In the tradition of “The Godfather” comes Sergio Leone’s compelling dramatic epic chronicling the lives of two boyhood cohorts and their struggle to achieve power in the gangland heirarchy. Academy Award- winner Robert De Niro (”GoodFellas,” “A Bronx Tale”) stars in this powerful tale of raw, brutal emotion. Co-starring Academy Award-nominee and Emmy-winner James Woods (”Nixon,” “Ghosts of Mississippi”), Elizabeth McGovern (”She’s Having a Baby”), Treat Williams (”Prince of the City”) and Academy Award-winner Joe Pesci (”GoodFellas,” “Lethal Weapon 2 & 3″) co-star. Receiving two Golden Globe nominations, USA Today calls this “a visually stunning film” and The New York Times says it’s a monument of filmmakers.” Included on the 1984 Ten Best lists of both The Hollywood Reporter and Siskel & Ebert’s “At the Movies,” and available in its epic, uncut longer version. MPAA Rating: R (c) 1983 The Ladd Company. All Rights Reserved.

Picco Z w/Mods Stable Flight

Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

I’ve done many mods to my Picco Z. I have had it for over a year now and it just keeps going. The mods that I’ve added are small ball like push pin to the tip. Added a front wing to catch the rotor wash for forward flight, and the stability while in flight by adding this wing is amazing. It’s like now it’s coasting on an air cushing along the nose keeping it staight and true. I removed weight by cutting a portion of foam off the body. On the belly of the Picco is a wedge shapped piece of foam at the belly between the tip of the tail and the rear of the landing pads. I cut this wedge out neatly. If you look at your picco you will see what im talking about. Cut at the same angle as the tail down until you hit the landing pads the just cut along the back of the landing pads up toward the top of the body and intersect the cuts and remove the wedge. This gave me a center of gravity closer to the nose of the chopper. I also removed the sticker along the boom and left the tail stablizer just below the tail rotor. It was harder to keep the sticker fin straight and would interfer with stability as the air warped around the waves or ripples in the fin. I re-enforced the rotor shaft by adding a brace at the top of the rotor shaft and the opening of the body. This hole is pretty big and lets the rotor shaft wobble as it revs up. I used a small square peice of plastic and glued it at the opening to accomidate a smaller tighter shaft hole I poked into the plastic. So it has no more
